How to read your pay stub

"What the heck, paycheck?"

Payday is pretty sweet.  After all, we all love seeing money show up in our bank account. But have you ever looked at your paycheck and wondered why the amount that goes in the bank is so much less than the amount you earn?

Understanding how to read a paystub helps us better understand where our money goes. It also helps us make sure that we’re taking full advantage of a retirement savings program, or that we’re not having too much taken out for taxes.
