Mobile Deposit FAQs

We're pleased to introduce a fast, easy and FREE addition to our Mobile Banking app. You can now make deposits into your personal First Federal accounts from your smartphone or tablet.

Here are answers to the most common questions about how to use Mobile Deposit:

How do I make a deposit?


1) Endorse your check by signing your name 
(as it appears on the front of the check,) and 
"For mobile deposit" like this example:















2) Log-in to the Mobile Banking App. 
Then click the Deposits button.
(Images are from the Android version of the app. The iPhone version is similar, except the main navigation buttons are at the bottom of the screen.








































3) Select "New Deposit:"


4) Select the account you want to make the deposit into
(if you have more than one eligible account) and click the "Amount" button to enter in the check amount:

(You may have to scroll down to see the "continue" button, after you enter the check amount, depending on your device.)




5) Click the "Front Image" button to take a picture of the front of the check:

Photo Tips
> Be sure the check fits within the corner frames as shown below
> Place the check on a flat surface with a color that contrasts with the check
> Make sure the check lays flat and smooth out any folds/wrinkles

If the check image is easily readable, click the “Use” button that will appear. If the image is blurry or hard-to-read, try taking another photo.

6) Click the "Back" image button and take a photo of the back of the check:


Confirm the check amount and submit your deposit – And that’s it! Your check will be credited to your account within 2-business days. You can check on the status of your mobile deposits at any time by clicking the “Deposits” main navigation button and then select “View Deposit History.”


How long does it take for my deposits to show up in my account balance?

Deposits will show up within 2 business days.

How many checks can I deposit?

You can deposit up to five checks per day. The maximum total amount you can deposit per day is $2,500.

What is the cutoff time for mobile deposits?

3:00 p.m., Central Time, Monday  - Friday. Checks deposited on weekends or holidays will be processed the following business day.

Can I see pending deposits in my account?

No, the deposit will not appear in your account until it is processed. However, the funds may not be immediately available.

How will I know if my check has been accepted for deposit?

You will receive a confirmation on your mobile device when we receive your deposit that looks like this:


 If the deposit was not accepted, you will receive a notification on your mobile device.




























Can I deposit any check with Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit is primarily for personal checks you may receive. Certain checks are not eligible for Mobile Deposit, such as government checks, travelers checks and any checks that are for non-US currency. You can visit any banking center to deposit non-eligible checks.

What should I do with the paper check after I deposit it?

After you receive confirmation that your check has been accepted for processing, write "Electronically Presented” or “Void" on the front of the check so that it cannot be presented for deposit again. 

Keep the check for at least 14 days. Please do not destroy the checks you deposit for at least 14 days after date of deposit.You need to maintain control over and be responsible for the check. Please store in a secure place. On rare occasions, we may ask you to provide the check to us.
